Now is the time of year where I start to shift my mindset around what I’m shopping for. I’m still very much into summer! But I’m being more strategic about what I’m purchasing and thinking about how new additions can be put to use in the cooler months ahead.
When styled together, the pieces pictured up top create a really lovely fall look. But I also think each piece can stand its own during the summer too. Here’s how:
A light knit to use on cool summer nights - things really cool down at night (even during the summertime) in Colorado so I try to have a few cozy knits to bring along with me to an outdoor concert or dinner al fresco. This* sweater fits the bill perfectly - one of my all-time favorites. And right now is the perfect time to find fairly priced knits that you’ll reach for in the cooler months too. Here are some that have caught my eye: a creamy Toteme*, a new Jenni Kayne*, Lisa Yang camel goodness*, and a classic silhouette*. Or, if you’re a dress lover like me, you must try this knit!
Floral scents with hints of citrus - this* powdery floral scent with a hint of bright citrus is a beautiful combination for transitional months. I had been searching for a new perfume for months and this one is what dreams are made of.
Something other than jeans - for summer, I think these would pair so well with a simple tank*, a fun belt* (30% off right now), sandals, and pretty bag! I already ordered these* in the ‘camo’ color so I’m going to order the Shon in ‘midnight.’
Accessories that do the talking - this is the type of necklace that looks great with everything! I wear a similar one (my wedding gift!) all the time. I also believe these lapis stone drops are easy - wear them with jeans and a white tee or a fun dress*!
A versatile bag to pair with… well anything - I’d pair this little liffner* piece of perfection with my favorite linen dress* for a summer date night with my hub! Here are a few more bags that I love for both seasons: an eggshell clutch*, a pistachio green beauty*, a dark brown classic*, and a unique bucket bag*.
Mesh flats - I am fully on board the mesh flat train. They provide a way to keep cool in the summer and boast enough coverage to be acceptable in the fall. Obsessed with these* and these*. Style with denim, skirts, or dresses (like this).
